Free Practice:
In the first free practice the track was still a bit damp and drying
up. As a bad accident caused a red flag and the session wasnīt
restarted, the Kaufmann Drivers only did a very few laps. Tunjo was
P 5, Frijns P 20 and Jaminet P 27.
In the second free
practice it was Kaufmann Driver Robin Frijns who had set the fastest
lap of all 47 drivers. Teammate Tunjo was on P 11 and Jaminet on P
21
Qualifying 1:
Again, as Qualifying was split into two groups it was first Tunjo
and Jaminet in Group A for Qualifying. Tunjo qualified himeself on P
10 in his group and Jaminet on P 15. Overall the starting positions
P 24 for Tunjo and P 29 for Jaminet.
Robin Frijns was
the man in Group B. With a perfect qualifying run, the young dutch
once again like the day before set the fastest practice lap of his
Group and the overall field. Actually it was the maiden Pole
Position for Frijns in Formula Renault 2.0 Eurocup.
Race 1:
Robin Frijns had a good start and was able to lead the 47 cars into
Eau Rouge. Frijns was able to put a little gap for the first 3 laps
leading the race. Actually after 5 laps Frijns had to defend himself
to the following drivers and dropped back to P 3. A heavy accident
once again caused a Safety Car period and the race was finished
behind the Safety Car. Frijns finally finished on P 3. Oscar Tunjo
and Mathieu Jaminet, both with bad luck didnīt finish the race.
Tunjo had to suffer from a technical failure on the butterfly of his
car and didnīt even finish the warm up lap. Jaminet crashed out
during the race with a broken front suspension.
Qualifying 2:
In the Qualifying for the race on Sunday it was first Robin Frijns
on track in Group B. The young Dutch managed to qualify on P 2 in
his group and so overall P 4 for the race. Oscar Tunjo had again bad
luck, as his fastest lap was deleted due to a red flag. The young
Colombian finished P 8 in his group, respective P 15 overall, and
Mathieu Jaminet like the day before on P 15 in his group and P 29
overall.
Race 2:
Frijns had a good start and moved up to P 3 in Eau Rouge. A move for
the lead before Les Combes didnīt tourn out very good. Frijns was
pushed off the track into the grass and dropped back to P 5. After a
very unspectacular race, Frijns was very close to the leading group,
putting the fastest race laps but not beeing able to start any
overtaking manover. In the end he finished on an unlucky P 5.
Mathieu Jaminet had a normal race and moved up some positions to P
22 in the end. Again very unlucky was Oscar Tunjo. After a good
opening lap, the young Colombian was already on P 12 but then
another driver crashed into his car and Tunjo had to give up with a
broken rear suspension.
